Website Changes Announced

You may notice some changes in our website the next time you visit our virtual branch. We've darkened some button backgrounds to improve the contrast and ease of reading of our navigation buttons. We've also created a "Using My Library" section that pulls together information we used to have in "About My Library" and "Ask Us" about everyday use of the library such as how to get a library card, all about borrowing, unique collections & services, introductions to library services in languages other than English and using our computers and wireless.

Civic Holiday -Monday, August 4

All locations of London Public Library will be closed for the civic holiday on Monday, August 4, 2008. Regular operating hours resume on Tuesday, August 5.

Looking for the newest recipe books?

We've made it easy for you! The "Cooking, Drinking and Food" section we created in the Home, Garden & DIY category under My Life provides lists, such as books about baking or preserving or recipes for entertaining,  linked directly to books in our catalogue so you can quickly place holds from your computer. Each list is organized so you see our newest titles first and they are updated every time a new book in that category is added. You'll also find links to websites about cooking that we believe are fantastic. We hope this section helps you discover new treats in our collection.

LOL: Summer Reading

LOL: Laugh Out Loud, this year's TD Summer Reading Club, is off to a great start. In the first 2 weeks of play, we registered a total of 3378 children at our locations across the city, and every day the number grows. In addition, we have been out to 4 different sites to bring the program to kids who wouldn't ordinarily be able to easily get to the Library. These visits, with more to come, will be regular ones... either weekly or biweekly. The kids love the theme and are really getting into the swing of things!
