Did you know that the Central Library has over 4000 information files on individual Canadian visual artists?  These files are housed on the third floor (Arts and History Department) of the Central Library.
The London Public Library's Canadian Artist files include exhibition announcements, small exhibition catalogues, some reproductions and other ephemeral material. The collection, dating from the 1960's when the Library and Art Gallery were under the same roof on Queens Avenue, has a wide scope, encompassing early Canadian artists as well as contemporary local and regional artists.  The files are indexed in an in-house database and are also accessible on the Internet through the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) by name of artist. London Public Library is one of the many participating institutions in the "Artists in Canada" project, which is an extensive list identifying the location in Canada of information on individual Canadian artists.
