Drum for fun this summer

""

At some point in our lives all of us have been touched by sound and music.  In fact if we consider the idea further we will realize that fundamentally we are all rhythm, that everything in the universe is vibrating and pulsing to sound/movement/rhythm.

It is my belief that all people unconsciously understand this and have deep connections to sound. Maybe this is why we can connect so easily to the beating of the drums both privately and in group settings.

~Says Cliff Patton, facilitator of the Interactive Drum Circle with Primordial Percussion.

Used in many ancient cultures, drums and drumming have been recognized long time ago as an unique way of enhancing people health.

It has been proven that drumming reduces stress, boosts the immune system, helps to release negative emotions and even reduces chronic pain.

But above all it is fun.

So, join us for  the drumming session on Thursday, July 31 and/or Thursday, August 28 at 7 pm in the Stevenson & Hunt room, Central Library.

Register online, by phone at 519-661-5122 or in person  at any library any time now for July session and starting Tuesday, Aug. 5 for August session. Payment $5.00 due at registration.
