True North Favourite: Navy

Navy by Blaine Wiseman

This informative, non fiction title provides a broad introduction into the career of a Navy sailor. From the history of the Canadian Navy to the equipment they use to the various jobs available within this field, this book covers it all. Interestingly, there is also information on how this job affects the families of servicemen and women as many young people looking into this career may not think about how their families can be affected by this career choice and the support systems that have been put in place to assist them. On a personal note, this book is a family favorite for us as my brother and his ship (the H.M.C.S. Regina) are featured in a picture as they returned from a year long sail in the Somalia region.
