True North Favourite: The Owl and the Pussycat

owl and the pussycat

The Owl and the Pussycat by Stéphane Jorisch

Like most people I had read Edward Lear's poem, The Owl and the Pussycat, many times. But when I saw this edition, illustrated by Stéphane Jorisch, I understood the story in a new way. His illustrations in ink and watercolour, so beautiful and strange, give the text a whole new level of meaning. This book won the Governor General's Award for Children's Illustration in 2008.
