True North Favourite: The Harrow Fair Cookbook

harrow fair

The Harrow Fair Cookbook : prize-winning recipes inspired by Canada's favourite country fair by Moira Sanders and Lori Elstone with Beth Goslin Maloney

Small town agricultural fairs are the highlight of my summer. For anyone who grew up in Essex County (the Sun Parlour of Canada), the Harrow Fair has been a beloved tradition since 1854. I have fond memories of admiring prize-winning quilts, 170 pound pumpkins and rows of canned pickles. This cookbook pays homage to local agriculture and includes 150 mouth-watering recipes that use fresh, seasonal produce. I award red ribbons to the Rhubarb Custard Pie and the Sour Cherry Jam!
