What is a Book Club in a Bag?

A 6 week loan (no renewals) to registered book clubs of 12 paperback copies of a book suitable for stimulating book club discussions.

How can my book club register and arrange for a loan?

Choose one member to be your representative and ask the staff at any London Public Library branch to issue your Book Club library card.

How to borrow Book Club in a Bag titles

• STEP ONE: You must check the  Availability Calendar.
  It lists the Book Club Bag titles, the dates still available for you to book, and when they are not available because they are already booked. To book an available title have your titles, pick up and return dates ready BEFORE you call. There is a limit of 3 bookings per club.
  
  
• STEP TWO: When you have decided on which titles and which dates you would like to book the Book Club Bags, phone 519-661-4600 and ask to speak to a library staff person about booking a Book Club Bag.
  
  
• STEP THREE: Library staff will make the booking for you, and will ask you for booking information—your name, Book Club library card number, contact information, and where you would like to pick up and return the Bag. Have a calendar handy!

Borrowing Details

• The Bag can be borrowed for up to 6 weeks.
• book clubs may only have 3 titles booked at any one time.
• Holds cannot be placed on Book Club Bags through the catalogue. 
• All 12 copies of the title must be borrowed with the Bag, and all 12 copies of the title must be returned in the Bag. Library Staff cannot accept returned Bags without the correct number of books inside the Bag.
