Earth Hour

Spend an hour in the dark this weekend! Earth Hour is coming up this Saturday, March 23rd from 8:30 - 9:30 pm. Organized by the World Wild Fund for Nature, Earth Hour encourages people around the world to turn off nonessential lights and devices for one hour, to raise awareness about climate change.  This annual event started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and has grown to include 7,001 cities across 152 countries.

There are many interpretations of what constitutes a "Green Home" but basically it refers to the amount of energy a home uses on a yearly basis. The less energy you use the "greener" your home.  Newer homes are built to stricter building codes so they start off more energy efficient than older homes.
