It's finally here!  The Teen Clothing Exchange is this Saturday, June 12th from 2 - 4 pm in the Tonda Room, 1st floor, Central Library.  Don't let your old tee be a lump in a landfill -- seize this excellent opportunity to recycle your clothes.

When my daughter was 13 things began to disappear from her desk.  Girls gave the silent treatment.  Or whispered behind her back.  One day she arrived in the classroom to find a portrait she'd drawn had been defaced, a swear word scrawled across it in black marker.  Her teacher was horrified and called me in tears.  We knew who the girls were, but how should we handle the situation?  Call the parents in?  Speak with the girls?  Bring in a mediator?  Was bullying just a part of surviving childhood?
