  Central Library Revitalization Construction Alerts

The final phase of the Central Revitalization Project is almost complete!  Please let us help you find what you need.  Feel free to call ahead before you visit with any questions: 519-661-4600.

Construction Alert: The area of the main floor that houses our periodical and newspaper collections will be closed from Tuesday, February 7 through Friday, February 10 for installation work.  On these dates, current newspapers will be located on tables just inside the main floor entrance  Earlier issues will not be available in print but we'd be happy to show you how to view them online at the library using Press Reader.

Construction Update:

Construction hoarding on all floors has come down, allowing the sun to shine in and making it much easier to find your way around.  Washroom renovations are complete, with access available on all floors!  Public computers are available on the 2nd and 3rd floors.  Visitor passes and accessible technology are available on the 2nd floor.

Construction continues on the grand staircase and on both floors.  Major construction, including work on the staircase, is expected to be completed in March, which is ahead of schedule.  Access to all floors continues to be available by elevator.  The temporary 2nd floor entrance from Citi Plaza will remain open until major construction has been completed.

Please note that the Music CD collection has moved to the 2nd floor and the newspaper and magazine collections have moved to the main floor, on the Dundas Street side (closed for installation work from February 7-10).  Daily papers are still available from our help desks.

The Children's Library has moved back into its newly renovated space, which includes an additional program room.  All Children's programs will take place in the Children's Library space.

We are happy to help you find what you need. Please ask staff for help or call ahead before you visit to 519-661-4600.
