Summer R.E.A.D. (Reading Enjoyment And Development)

This program is offered during July and August.
Applications for a waiting list are now being accepted.
Waiting list forms can be picked up at any branch location.
Parents will be contacted during the last week of June to confirm participation.

Children who are having difficulty reading can get one-on-one help once a week throughout the summer at a pre-scheduled time, including some evening and Saturday hours.

For children entering Grade 2 to Grade 7 in the fall.

R.E.A.D. sessions are tailored to the interests and abilities of individual children. The program is not designed to duplicate what happens in school but rather to create a more positive attitude toward reading.

Summer students who work with the children are trained to encourage and motivate children through the use of games, crafts and activities that are literacy-based.

Free. Available at all Library locations, except Glanworth.
