London ABCs App

There’s a new alphabet smartphone app, created and developed locally, that connects the ABCs to places in London that families in our community know and visit. The app is one of numerous literacy initiatives generated by the Child & Youth Network, a collaborative of 150 London organizations, including London Public Library, which promotes and improves literacy for children, teens and families.

FUN-tastic Community Celebration of Family Literacy Day 2012!

On Saturday, January 28 from 10 am to 2 pm we want to celebrate all the great ways that families make literacy a part of their daily lives. So … we are having a party and all families are invited!

Join us at the Central Library for this free fun-filled community celebration of nationally recognized Family Literacy Day with crafts and fun hands-on literacy activities, stories, games, face painting, pizza (low cost) and draw prizes.

There will also be a special performance by the hilarious DuffleBag Theatre of Beauty and the Beast at 11 a.m. in the Wolf Performance Hall.
