Between 1869 and the early 1930s, over 100,000 children were sent to Canada from Great Britain during the child emigration movement. Members of the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa are locating and indexing the names of these Home Children found in passenger lists in the custody of the National Archives of Canada.

InGeneas - National Archives of Canada Miscellaneous Immigration Index
A free searchable index of passenger lists in the National Archives of Canada, 1800-1849. The database contains approximately 15,000 names. A list of sources is also provided, which gives a brief description of the information that can be found in each record. InGeneas also has another searchable index of other passenger lists and genealogical records which can be ordered for a fee.
