They lived in a van during their 1968 journey across eleven countries. David and Ann McColl Lindsay's trek through Scotland, England and Spain was detailed in Hungry Hearts, their first book. In Hearts Forever Young: the journey continues Ann brings to life the marketplaces of France, Italy, Austria and much of western Europe.
Was it fun? The Lindsays slept with a circus troupe in France; under snow drifts in the Alps; beside a panther in Hamburg, and made enough memories to keep themselves young at heart. Back in Canada, their van hauled furniture, books and cookware to set up Ann McColl's Kitchen Utensils and Victoriana on Dundas Street two months after their return, in 1969.
