From G&M book reviewer T.F. Rigelhof comes "Hooked on Canadian Books" which promises us an overview of "The Good, the Better and the Best Canadian Novels since 1984". I found myself skimming the table of contents to see which titles I recognized, or had read, and then checking whether Rigelhof's assessment matched up with my own. But even better, there are many titles that I haven't yet had a chance to read and his reviews will help me sift through to the gems which I will add to my ever-growing 'must read' list. You will find this celebration of English-Canadian novels is more than a collection of reviews and essays. It's a conversational survey of all that is good in our nation's literature, and an examination of what makes a book a good read, -- all the while managing to be a good read itself.
