Pick Up Service

Pick Up Service Hours at Carson Branch and Lambeth Branch

Wait for your email or call letting you know that your items are available for pick up. Pick up anytime during these hours:

  • Tuesday - Saturday
  • 10am - 12pm and 1 - 4pm
  • Closed 12 - 1pm

* Closed October 12 for holiday.

Return items at any time, using outside return chutes at any location EXCEPT for Glanworth which remains closed.
  • Please bring large items, such as musical instruments, book club bag sets or board games to our Pick Up Service area to return anytime during Pick Up Service hours (see above).
  • Please keep a safe distance from others when using the return chute.
  • Once returned, all items will be quarantined for at least 3 days. It may take some time before these items are removed from your account. No late fines will be charged.

Pick Up Locations:

NOTE: Pick Up is available OUTSIDE these locations. Buildings remain closed. Washrooms are not available.

Outside Pick Up is no longer available at locations that have re-opened. However, you can still place holds and quickly pick them up and check them out yourself inside these locations. Browsing and borrowing from the shelves is also available at re-opened locations.

Carson Branch Library - will remain Pick Up only

Lambeth Branch Library - will remain Pick Up only

If entrance door is closed, ring doorbell at Library entrance and have Library card ready. Return items using return chute.

Glanworth Branch remains closed at this time. Return chute is not available. Please return items to any other location.

About Pick Up Service

  • Place hold online or by phone, choosing your Pick Up location.
  • Wait for the email or phone call letting you know that your holds are available for pick up.
  • Head to your Pick Up location anytime during open hours (see above).
  • Line up outside, keeping a safe distance from others.
  • Have your Library card ready to show staff.
  • Staff will retrieve your items and will place them on the table for you to pick up.
  • Exit with your items, keeping a distance from others.
  • Return all items using return chutes. Do not bring to the pick up table.
  • All buildings are closed to the public. Washrooms are not available.
  • Drive up service is not available. Please park in designated parking lots or spaces.
  • If you have mobility or accessibility needs, please call or email to see how we can help you best use our Pick Up service.

Items can be returned using the return chutes outside any location EXCEPT for Glanworth.

When using our Pick Up Service, we've increased the borrowing period for all items by a week and added an auto-renew feature!

All items borrowed through our Pick Up Service will automatically renew up to 3 times unless there is a hold on the item. However, items that have holds are not able to be renewed so please check your account to confirm due dates for all items.

Pick Up Service Borrowing Periods:

  • 4 weeks for regular items, with items automatically renewing for an extra 3 weeks for up 3 times unless there is a hold on the items.
  • 2 weeks for feature film DVDs with items automatically renewing for an extra week for up to 3 times unless there is a hold on the items.

Borrowing Limits:

You may borrow up to 20 DVDs per card and there is an overall limit of 60 items per library card.

You can borrow and place holds on up to 20 digital items in Overdrive and Libby. We encourage you to return your digital items as soon as you are done.


Please call or email us if you have questions or concerns about fines, your account and your Library card so we can help you make use of the Library.

No late fines will be charged for items due during the closure of our buildings.

However, replacement costs for items that are damaged or not returned after due dates will still apply.

Outstanding late fines for items due before the closure and replacement costs for lost or damaged items will still apply.

Payment for fines will not be accepted in person. You can pay online through your account or call us at (519) 661-4600.

You can still use all the online resources available in our Digital Library even if you have fines.

Holds are back! You can now place holds for items in our catalogue as you did previously, with the option to choose a pickup location from those library branches that are offering this service.

To change the pick up location for holds that are are not yet ready for pickup, log into My Account and select Holds. Under Pickup Location, drop the arrow down and select the preferred pickup location. When finished, selecct Update List to agree to the change.

Book Club in a Bag Sets, Board Games, Musical Instruments and Leisure Kits are not available to borrow at this time.

If you'd like reading recommendations, we’re here to help! Please use our Personal Picks form for adults or children.

Please do not clean or disinfect borrowed library items. This will cause damage to the items and a replacement charge may apply.

Instead, we recommend quarantining or leaving your item for at least 24 hours after pick up and have extended all due dates by one week to allow for this.

We will be quarantining all returned items for at least 3 days and are only accepting returns through our return chutes for safety reasons. As a result, items will still appear on your account during this quarantine period and holds may take longer to become available. We thank you for your patience as we make community and staff safety our priority.

Staff at Pick Up Service locations are not able to provide in person help with library account issues or other questions.
