The Ivey Family London Room is a research facility for genealogy and local history located at the Central Library. It contains a wealth of secondary source materials on the city of London and the counties of Elgin, Middlesex, Norfolk and Oxford as well as original materials on the city of London and Middlesex County, such as: books, diaries & manuscripts, minutes, maps, photographs and other memorabilia, selected municipal documents
For those conducting family history research, collection emphasis is southwestern Ontario and includes:census, cemetery transcriptions, vital statistics indexes, birth/marriage/death records, passenger lists, family histories
The London Room is open when the Central Library is open.

There is no charge for staff assistance for:
Information requests that involve a systematic investigation using our resources will have a charge levied. A charge will be incured whether or not an answer is found.
London Room staff will handle the questions in the order in which they are received. London Room staff will provide referrals to local professional researchers if the patron wishes to engage their services. The library does reserve the right to refuse the provision of research services, and, in these circumstances, will provide a referral to local professional researchers.
