Knights make book donations to Public and School Libraries

London Public Library’s partnership with the London Knights was made stronger Friday with the donation of multiple copies of Road to the Memorial Cup to each London Public Library location.

The Knights share the Library’s concern with learning and literacy for London youth and look for ways in which they can provide support. This fall, they participated in the Library's Every Kid A Card campaign which encourages elementary school students to pick up a library card along with their other school supplies.

Any story about the Knights, but especially the one about the great 2005 win of the Memorial Cup, the first in the club’s 40 year history, is sure capture the interest of that generation – and of hockey lovers of all ages!.

London Knights President/Head Coach Dale Hunter, Assistant Coaches Pat Curcio and Dave Gagner and Marketing Director Geoffrey Hare were on hand December 7 at the presentation ceremony. Jacquie Shields, Teach-Librarian with the Thames Valley District School Board and Library Collections Manager Beth Whitney received more than 300 copies of the book which will be distributed to all Thames Valley and Roman Catholic school libraries as well as the Public Library.
