The Mysterious Case of the Carved Books

What do you get when you blend the written word with visual art?

These beautiful carved books began appearing without credit at London Public Library to the delight of staff and patrons. Each book is magnificently crafted and a true work of art! Speculation surrounded who the artist or artists were and why were the books appearing at the Library?

The buzz in the system got louder until ultimately, the artists were revealed to be a group of art students at H.B.Beal Secondary School led by teacher Ron Milton. The secret art campaign highlighted Bealart’s year-end show and Beal’s 100 Anniversary Celebrations in late May and early June. Beal chose to treat the library because London Public Library has been a supporter of Bealart for many years.

The books have now been returned to the artists.
