FUN-tastic Community Celebration of Family Literacy Day 2012!

On Saturday, January 28 from 10 am to 2 pm we want to celebrate all the great ways that families make literacy a part of their daily lives. So … we are having a party and all families are invited!

Join us at the Central Library for this free fun-filled community celebration of nationally recognized Family Literacy Day with crafts and fun hands-on literacy activities, stories, games, face painting, pizza (low cost) and draw prizes.

There will also be a special performance by the hilarious DuffleBag Theatre of Beauty and the Beast at 11 a.m. in the Wolf Performance Hall.

The holiday season is a special time for families and friends to get together.

Why not take advantage of this time and organize an informal fun literacy activity like a games night.  The stores are full of inexpensive games and puzzles, designed for all age groups.

Did you know that while you and your friends or family are trying to find that puzzle piece, or playing a favourite game, that you are actually improving your literacy skills?
