Writer in Residence coming to Central

We are very pleased to announce that Edeet Ravel, a prize-winning author and finalist for the Governor General’s Award and the Scotiabank Giller Prize, will be London Public Library's 2007 Writer-in-Residence, October 22-26. Edeet will be offering consultations, an author panel and workshops during her time at the Library.

Consultations: Edeet will meet with up to eighteen aspiring writers by appointment. Maximum length of submissions is 20 pages. Prose fiction only, please. Send your submission by September 20 to Writer-in-Residence, London Public Library 251 Dundas Street, London, ON N6A 6H9 or drop it off at the Central branch first floor welcome desk, attention: Writer-in-Residence. Note: Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee an appointment. Manuscript submissions not selected will not be returned.

Author Panel: Edeet Joins Joan Barfoot and Paul Cavanagh to lead the audience in an "Ask the Author" discussion. Moderated by Ian Gillespie of The London Free Press. Register in person at the Central Branch, Community Outreach & Program Services desk or by phone at 519-661-5122. Free.

Leading Londoners Book Club: Leading Londoners will discuss their favourite novel with Edeet and a public audience, October 25 (7:00 pm), Stevenson & Hunt Room, Central branch. Facilitated by Library CEO Anne Becker. Register at the Central branch welcome desk or call 519.661.5122.
