How to find your next great read!

Sue Grafton's new novel T is for Trespass, due out the beginning of December has over 200 holds on it already -- and you're sitting at number 170. What are you going to read in the meantime? Fear not book lovers -- NoveList is there to save the day!

To access NoveList  on our website, simply highlight My Research with your cursor and then click on Databases. Cursor down until you see NoveList (it's an alphabetical list) and click on it. Make sure you have your London Public Library card handy and start searching for new books to read! If you've read this far you'll notice that there is also a link to the right of this page. Easy!

One of my favourite features of this resource is the "Author Read-alikes" section found under the "Reader" tab. This tool allows you to pick a popular author such as John Grisham, James Patterson, or Sue Grafton and then provides you with a list of authors who write in a similar genre or style. An additional feature that you can try is "describe a plot", which allows you to specify exactly what you want to read about, whether it be mystery, World War II, romance or any combination you can think of. For those of you with children, searching by reading level is also an option. There are many other features to NoveList that you may want to check out, so if you are still waiting for the next big thriller, give NoveList a try while you're waiting!
