Crouch Branch Remembers November 11

November 11, 2008 is the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in 1918.  To honour the occasion, Crouch is proud to create a Remembrance Day display that will feature a just-released new book by longtime Crouch patron, Deborah. L. Holme.

Sarah's Poppy Puppy is the true story of Londoner Pte Norval Earl Holme who enlisted in 1942 and died while serving his country overseas in 1944.  The author has woven her family research into a Remembrance Day storyline from a child's perspective.  Through this book, young readers will learn about the significance of Remembrance Day and relate it to their own community.

Other important wartime memorabilia with a local flavour will be displayed as well during November, as part of Crouch's way of honouring our service men and women.
