Looking for something dramatically different?

On Wednesday, October 22, at 7 pm at the Central Library, meet Dave Carley, our new Playwright-in-Residence.

Dave Carley is joined by fellow playwright Marcia Johnson to kickoff our 2008 Writer in Residence program with readings from their plays. If you have ever thought about writing for the stage and want to learn from the pros: Curtain up! Dave Carley is a Canadian playwright whose works have been produced across Canada and the United States, as well as in many countries around the world. His stage plays include Writing with our Feet, Taking Liberties, After You, The Last Liberal, and an adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Edible Woman. His drama Orchidelirium premiered at Toronto’s Factory Theatre in 2004 and received three Dora Nominations, including one for Best New Play.

Marcia Johnson’s Courting Johanna ran at the Blyth Festival 2008. Her other plays include You Look Great Too for the Rhubarb! Festival at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Perfect on Paper at the Toronto Fringe Festival and Say Ginger Ale at the AfriCanadian Playwrights Festival.
