Author Reading: Anita Badami

Join us on Tuesday January 6th for a reading from award winning  Canadian author Anita Badami. The reading will take place from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Central Library in Stevenson and Hunt meeting room A. She will read from her novel Can You Hear the Nightbird Call? This novel is set in India and Canada during the poitical turmoil in 1947 and again, in the 1980s. A question and answer period will follow her reading. No registration required. Just drop in! 

Here is some info about Ms. Badami. She was born in 1961 in India and moved to Canada in 1991. In 1995 she was awarded a Master's degree in Engligh literature from the University of Calgary. Can you Hear the Nightbird Call? is her third novel. Her bestselling second novel, The Hero's Walk won the Regional Commonwealth Writers' Prize, Italy's Premio Berto and was also named a Washington Post Best book of 2001. Anita is currently the writer-in-residence at U.W.O. from September '08 to January '09.
