Ah, retirement!

If you are retired or will be soon one of the many great sites for retired persons is the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP).  CARP's mandate is to effectively promote the rights and quality of life of mature Canadians. The site includes information on travel, health concerns, and government information.

Another very useful site to check out if you are rethinking where you might want to live and retire to is the CareGuide web site.  This site is a senior's guide to retirement homes and Long-Term Care homes in several provinces including Ontario. There is a great search function that allows you to search by location and type of home.

You can also check out Senioropolis for a directory of all retirement homes in Ontario or Fifty Plus for articles that give insight about topics ranging from employment to entertainiment. For some in person information join us at Central Library to hear experts from Revera Retirement and Ontario Retirement Community Association discuss this important transitional period in your life.

But, don't forget there has to be a fun side to retirement. Join us at Central Library for Conversation Piece, a chance to share, showcase and learn about some of those unique books, treasures and photos that you have collected over the years.
