Did you check out the Golden Globes this year?  Many of the winners were for films or programs based on books.

Les Misérables (based on Victor Hugo's novel), won for best movie, and actor Hugh Jackman and supporting actress Anne Hathaway also took away awards for this film.

Argo won for best movie drama and director.  It was inspired by events recounted in the book by Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio.

Did you know that Lincoln was based in part on the book Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin?  The film landed an award for Daniel Day-Lewis.

Silver Linings Playbook is a novel by Matthew Quick and Jennifer Lawrence received an award for actress in a movie musical or comedy.

Life of Pi won for original score for a movie based on Yann Martel's award winning novel.

Game Change, based on the book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin won for best miniseries or TV movie, Julianne Moore won for actress in a miniseries or TV movie and Ed Harris took the award for supporting actor in a series.

And finally, Don Cheadle won Actor in a TV series comedy for House of Lies, based on the book by Martin Kihn.
