Holistic Health and You

Book CoverYou may have heard the term holistic health and wondered “what exactly does this mean”?

It can be defined as a practice where a person needs to include the whole self, physically, spiritually and emotionally in his or her health regime. So instead of just going down the traditional medical road with traditional medicine and family doctors, you could try alternative treatments to help whatever ails you.

Here at the library we offer a huge variety of books and programs to help get you started if you are new to the holistic approach to health. Two new resources “The Canadian Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine” and "Cancer: 50 Essential Things to Do” both explore Holistic practices. The Central Library is also co-sponsoring a program “Holistic Health: Your Best Birth”. Come learn about preparing your mind and body for birth using natural ways to help labour and delivery.
