Lent began on Sunday, February 17. However, it's not too late to prepare for Easter. One way would be to read the recently re-published edition of Albert Schweitzer's The Quest of the Historical Jesus. Is it an impossible quest? Not if we let ourselves be found, it seems. Schweitzer concludes, famously: "He comes to us as one unknown. He speaks to us the same words: Follow me! and sets us to the tasks which He has to fulfill for our time. He commands. And to those who obey Him, whether they be wise or simple, He will reveal Himself in the toils, conflicts and sufferings which they shall pass through in His fellowship, and, as an ineffable mystery, they shall learn in their own experience Who He is."
