What's Your Story?

If you are not a subscriber to Mediasmarts, Canada’s centre for digital and media literacy, then get clicking and check them out. While reading their blog I came across a fabulous new opportunity for aspiring film makers, teens, students and even teachers to take part in their “What’s Your Story? Video Contest.” Contestants are asked to tell a story, in 2 minutes or less, about safe responsible technology use. They then have the chance to win one of two $10,000 grand prizes, one for a school and one for an individual film-maker. What a fabulous opportunity! If this looks like something you or someone you know would be interested in doing and you need research material to get started, check out our resources here at the library. We not only have a great media literacy collection but we also have film studies, non-fiction material on documentary films and books such as Digital filmmaking for beginners : a practical guide to video production.
