Imagine a peaceful world - Attracting Peace 2013

peace sign 2 fingers

Jeremy Gilley British actor and film maker became passionate about establishing one day of peace and non violence world wide. In 1999 he founded Peace One Day Foundation. In 2001 his tremendous efforts were rewarded, when United Nations established September 21 to be the first Day of Peace and Non-Violence. "through detailed analysis conducted with the support of McKinsey & Company, the Peace One Day 2012 report found that, across the world, approximately 280 million people  in 198 countries were aware of Peace One Day 2012 -4% of world's population. The report further estimates that approximately 2% of those people (5.6 milion) behaved more peacefully as a result. Peace One Day expects to double those figures in 2013, creating a solid foundation for informing 3 bilion people about Peace Day by 2016." (peaceoneday.org) Join us for the Attracting Peace 2013 program - the annual celebration of peace on Thursday, September 19 at 7 pm in the Stevenson & Hunt room, Central Library. We will screen the most recent Peace One Day Film. Our guest Diane Yeo will talk about peace and meditation. The evening will end with a meditation for peace.
