Tom Smart on Jack Chambers; Thomas Gerry on James Reaney: Author readings
3 October 2013 - 12:55pm
On Thursday October 17th at 7pm, join us for an evening of author readings in the Stevenson & Hunt Meeting Room at the Central Library with Tom Smart and Thomas Gerry.
Tom Smart, author and former executive director of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection will read from his new book: "Jack Chambers' Red and Green". The author spent many years "decrypting" Chambers' final thoughts on the purpose of the artist in society.
Thomas Gerry, former Reaney student and professor will read from his recent publication: "The Emblems of James Reaney: Magnetically Drawn". Gerry explores ways in which these images are key to understanding Reaney's works.
Book sale and signings after the readings.
Co-sponsored by "The Porcupine's Quill".
