Cornelia Hoogland and Lynda Martens read from new work!

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 6th for the first of the "Dave Carley Readings on the Third Floor."  Dave Carley, London Public Library's 2008 Writer-in-Residence, mentored a very successful playwrights group.  Two of these playwrights, Cornelia Hoogland and Lynda Martens will read from their new work.  Hosted by London's Playwright's Lab, the reading will begin at 7 pm on the Third Floor of the Central Library.  Stay for a discussion of the author's work , followed by a book sale and signing.  All are welcome to this free event - hope to see you there!

Cornelia Hoogland's play Red, had its Canadian premiere in May 2013, and was featured at the 2012 Women Playwrights International in Stockholm, Sweden.  Her newest chapbook, Sea Level (Baseline Press) is being launched this month in London, ON.  Woods Wolf Girl (Wolsak and Wynn), was nominated for the Relit Best Book of 2011 National Poetry Award.  Cornelia is a Professor Emeritus of Western University.

Lynda Martens' first full-length script, Naked in the Kitchen was the winner of the 2009 Reva Shiner Playwright Competition held by the Bloomington Playwright's Project.  Her second full length script, Swing Dance is a sexy and touching comtemporary senior comedy.  Run, Father, Run is a dramedy about a priest who finds love and is in development.  Lynda is a relationship therapist and playwright living in London, Ontario.

This reading is made possible with the support of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and Canada Council for the Arts.
