A call to action

book cover: A call to action

This is President Jimmy Carter's call to action:

"The world's discrimination and violence against women and girls is the most serious, pervasive, and ignored violation of basic human rights".

In his new book A call to action : women, religion, violence, and power President Carter targets these systems of discrimination that are shown to be existent in every nation.

The discrimination can range from being deprived of equal opportunity in wealthier nations to being owned, abused, violated and subjected to violence in other nations.

President Carter's A Call to Action is reflective of his clear dedication to wiping out injustice and his passion and resolve in moving others to join his cause.

Carter was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize and he and his wife founded The Carter Center,  a non-profit centre dedicated to improving the lives of people around the world.

If you need inspiration, motivation or just a renewal of your belief that one person can reach out and make a difference this is the book for you.

This is the best book I have read in a long time because it is not filled with empty platitudes or references to vague or unsubstantiated accomplishments.

It is fact filled, verifiable and understandable. It has renewed my own personal strength and resolve to not buckle under the seemingly overwhelming odds of making a difference.  Make it your call to action.
