"War Brides: One-Way Passage"

book cover image

In the wake of World War II, tens of thousands of war brides made one-way voyages to their husbands' distant homelands, forsaking home and family to embark on a solitary voyage.

On Saturday August 9th Bev Tosh, an award-winning Calgary artist, arts educator and daughter of a war bride will be in London to talk about her work interviewing and painting portraits of war brides.

Her art exhibition, entitled "One-Way Passage" which interweaves personal, social and artistic elements has been acclaimed nationally and internationally.
