On a bicycle built for 2 or more

book cover image

If you haven't already heard Opera is coming to London....on bicycles!  No, the Tour de France hasn't de-toured or taken up singing arias and choruses.  We're talking about the Bicycle Opera Project.

This septet of energetic and talented young singers travel to their performance venues on their bicycles with stage sets in tow. I'm not sure if Wagner's Ring Cycle is in their plans for the near future but this season's concerts will showcase selections of Canadian opera.

The London show takes place on Tuesday, July 22, 7:30 pm at the Centre Space for the Arts aka Bishop Cronyn Anglican Church, William at Queens Ave.  Ticket information is available by calling 519-432-5718.  Ride your bike to the program and you'll qualify for a price discount.  Try the BOP website at www.bicycleopera.com for details about this summer's concerts and biographical entries on the performers.

Also, the Library has a broad selection of opera CDs, DVDs and piano/vocal scores available in our catalogue here
