The 2015 Oscars

Oscar Statue - P 2014

Well, the road to the Oscars has begun! The nominees for the 2015 Oscars were announced last week and now the race is on! While you might consider yourself an Oscar aficionado, you might not know that many of the movies that garnered nominations this year started off as books! Here are some of the titles that you can check out:

  • Wild - Reese Witherspoon received a Best Actress nomination for her portrayal of the main character in this 2013 memoir.
  • Gone Girl - this 2012 bestselling novel was adapted into a movie in 2014, and Rosamund Pike received a nomination for her performance as the female lead.
  • Foxcatcher - Steve Carrell (and his prosthetic nose) were nominated for a Best Actor Oscar in this true crime tale, based on last year's book.
