Poetry contest winners announced!

National poetry month

The winning poems in Poetry London's 7th Annual Poetry Contest are on display at London Public Library as part of National Poetry Month celebrations.  The winners were announced last Wednesday at Landon Branch Library at the Poetry London Reading, a series of monthly poetry readings that has been a regular program at Landon since 2004.

This year's contest was judged by Canadian poet Gregory Betts. Congratulations to all of the winners!

1st Place: "all of language is braille" by Kevin Heslop
2nd Place: "As if you are leaping in air" by Penn Kemp
Honourable Mentions: "Newport" by Jeremy Marks

Established in Canada by the League of Canadian Poets, National Poetry Month is a time dedicated to reading, writing and speaking poetry in Canada.  To find out more about National Poetry Month programs and events, visit poets.ca or Twitter: @Canadianpoets.

Visit your local library and join us in celebrating our poets, small presses and the contribution of all writers to the cultural life of our community!
