Think Small - Tidy Up

book cover image: Think small: make the most of every square foot

Often we hear little catch phrases that are specifically related to thinking and the way we think. Think big. Think outside the box. Think ahead.  And, just plain ordinary "think about it".   Heart Books latest House Beautiful: Think small: make the most of every square foot immediately grabbed my attention because of the "Think Small" part of the title.  It is not only an unusual book title but it is an unusual approach to decorating to help you maximize and utilize space.  I have already gone out and purchased a much smaller coffee table.  It works fine (and it is new, yeah!).  After all, its main function is to hold the remote control and a tea mug or two.  There is now so much extra space that the room automatically looks much bigger.  Wow.  I  can't believe I didn't think of that myself.

Between Heart Book's Think small: make the most of every square foot and Cathy Hirano's translation of Marie Kondo's The life-changing magic of tidying  up: the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing is seeing my home undergoing a spectacular change.  Of course, I am a bit slow at all of this having to fight with the procrastinator and hoarder qualities buried under the surface but I will tell you this much:  Either book will help you make changes that will then inspire you to move forward and continue altering your living space.   You will be glad you did.
