Derek Hayes has done a magnificient job of researching and finding both previously published and never published maps from archives (including the Hudson Bay archives) to maps drawn by native people such as the Beothuk, Blackfoot and Cree.  He unfolds Canada's colourful past in great visual detail to present it like you have never seen it before.  This is a mesmerizing piece of work.
