dvd cover

Join us for  the Polish Film Festival in April! On four weekday evenings and one Saturday afternoon we will screen five recent Polish productions. The event will open on Thursday, April 7 with the film by Jan Jakub Kolski The Heart and the Sweetheart (Serce, serduszko).  This film tells the story of a girl, who dreams about a ballet career. Maszenka lives in an orphanage after the death of her mother. One day she runs away together with her eccentric tutoress  Kordula.  They travel across Poland hiding from police and meeting interesting people. This nice family movie is worth watching even for the great roles of the two main characters: Maszenka – played by 11 year old debutant Marysia Blandzi and Kordula – by Julia Kijowska and beautiful pictures of Polish countryside.
