Cory Franklin, MD headed the Cook County intensive care unit for over 30 years.  He has written Cook County ICU which is filled with stories abut strange medical cases and unforgettable patients.  Two of the very unique stories were of treating the first AIDS patient before the disease was even diagnosed and the story of the nurse with Muchausen syndrome.  The stories are humorous, heart-warming and sometimes tragic.  This is a great read for patients, doctors and anyone who has an interest in medicine and real life experiences in a hospital.  The book is completely engaging so put some time aside for this one.
