How to Be Miserable

book cover image

Come and learn how not to be miserable on Thursday, April 27 at 7pm in the Stevenson & Hunt room A, in the Central Library. A psychologist, Dr. Randy Paterson will present his new book titled How to Be Miserable: Strategies You Already Use. Using a technique known as “reverse psychology” he will talk about forty behaviours, which all of us seem to master, that bring unhappiness. The book gives scientifically proven practical advice to deal with life difficulties in a way which should improve our wellbeing.

Dr. Paterson is the author of books and lecturer on topics including mental health policy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the nature and treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, and strategies for private practice management. He is the 2008 recipient of the Canadian Psychological Association's Distinguished Practitioner Award.

The talk is free and no registration is needed.
