Media specialists in our midst
Come and celebrate Canada's 150th birthday by coming out to the My Canadian Life 2017 speakers series to see and hear three well-known local media artists from different media venues.
October 3 - Larry Cornies speaks about his career as a journalist and how journalism, despite its flaws, plays an important role in nation-building. He gives a highly personal look at the responsibilities of a journalist in an age of rapid change and speaks about how journalistic values and principles can be applied by anyone hoping to build an even better Canada. This is a unique inside peak at an amazing Canadian life and one that has touched many of our lifes with timely, thoughtful and thought provoking news articles.
October 17 - Dick Williams has entertained Londoners for the last half century on radio and television and if you do not know the name you most certainly know the voice. Just a few of his many stints has been a top-forty rock jock at CFPL Radio, a morning man at CJBK, and mid-day host on EZ Rock, Q97.5 Join us as Dick comes in to tell you some great behind the scenes stories that happened in radio over the years. When you hear him speak you will know how that voice helped build an amazing Canadian life story.
November 7 - Jeff Willmore is a well-known gallery featured artist, story teller, speaker and performative painter. His presentation is centered on living in rural Southwestern Ontario. He says his early story is a classic one of growing up isolated both socially and geographically in multiple rural situations. Clearly from his paintings and performative work his rural Canadian background life fed this unique and amazing talent. A peek into a life story that is not to be missed.
