The final book in this trilogy
27 March 2017 - 8:21amThe Midwife of Venice was Roberta Rich's debut novel. This international bestseller was followed by a second novel - The Harem Midwife. And at last the third novel - A Trial in Venice - is here!
A magical read
21 December 2016 - 4:15pmDon't you love the cover of Ami McKay's latest book - The Witches of New York?
Wonderful historical tale...
4 November 2016 - 2:57pmPaulette Jiles' latest novel is News of the World. It's also a National Book Award finalist.
Read this book!
11 March 2016 - 3:10pmI LOVED this book!
The Forgotten Room is a unique literary venture as it was written by the combined efforts of Karen White, Beatriz Williams, and Lauren Willig.
WW2 Historical Fiction
3 February 2016 - 11:36amAn historical love triangle
18 January 2016 - 6:29pmAlong the infinite sea is Beatriz Williams' final book in the Schuyler sisters series. When I picked this book up I was simply intrigued by the story, not knowing it was part of a series. So, having not read the previous books, I can tell you that the story has no problem standing on its own.
Great for a book club!
11 January 2016 - 7:27pmThe Muralist by B.A. Shapiro is an inventive take on a common theme in historical fiction novels. Although the story takes place in New York on the verge of the Second World War, it is not your average war novel.
I was crying when Rosette died...
11 January 2016 - 3:30pmI was crying when Rosette died - a beautiful mulatta girl, who for me symbolized love, not only romantic but interracial love, and a hope for better interracial relationships.
A must read!
6 January 2016 - 10:13amThe Girl from the train is by far one of the best books that I read this past year.
Another great read from Morton!
8 December 2015 - 3:55pmKate Morton has done it again - her latest release, The Lake House, is an absolutely fantastic read.
