Good to Know
- Patrons have unlimited access to NYTimes.com except for the Crossword.
- If you are accessing NYTimes.com remotely, you need to create an account using an email address and password.
- Access Onsite (in library): Full New York Times articles published between 1851-1922, and between 1981-present including current day.
- Access Offsite (remotely): Full New York Times articles published between 1851-1922, and between 1981-present including current day. Offsite patrons also have access to 5 premium archives per day, for articles published between 1923-1980.
- Patrons may receive email and subscription notices - please ignore.
- Google Chrome browser is suggested for optimal viewing.
Getting Started
If you are at the library, you can click this link or go to NYTimes.com directly and enjoy the service.
If you are not at the library, you will need to click here and enter your Library Card number and PIN.
You must be 18 years of age to sign up for an account or if you are under the age of 18, you may use the service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Please see New York Times' Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more information.
- A webpage will appear that will have a redemption code displayed, click Redeem.
- You will then be prompted to login or create an account with an email and password.
- Follow the instructions on setting up your user account and password, including verifying setup by email.
- Once you have registered (or logged back in), you will be presented with the confirmation page which will provide the expiration date as each pass will allow you 72 hours of access.
- You cannot redeem another access code until your current account code has expired.
Download the App
In order to read on your phone or tablet, you must sign into NYTimes.com through the library's website by clicking here. You will need to enter your Library Card number and PIN.
Follow the above instructions for redeeming a code for 72 hours of access.
Download and install the NYTimes app for Apple's iOS or Android depending on your device.
Log in using your NYTimes.com account and password.
If you would also like access to NYTimes Cooking, download and install the NYTimes Cooking app (for iOS only) then log in with your NYTimes account.
