Make Your Mark - Teen Bookmark Design Contest Rules

  • Eligibility:  This Teen Bookmark Design Contest (contest) is open to residents of London, Ontario and surrounding counties (Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford county – excluding the towns of Tillsonburg and Woodstock) between the ages of 12-18 years. Entrants who do not meet these eligibility requirements and/or whose entries do not comply with all provisions of these Rules will not be eligible to win a prize.

  • Ineligible Persons:  Employees of London Public Library over the age of 18 years.

  • Contest Period: The Contest commences on December 1, 2010 and ends February, 28 2011.

  • How to Enter the Contest: Eligible persons (see above) may enter this contest by completing the online contest form at and uploading their bookmark design online or by bringing in their completed bookmark artwork and completing the entry form available at any London Public Library location.

  • Limit: There is a limit of 5 entries per person. No single entry with a drawing by two (2) or more persons is permitted and all entries submitted in such a manner are void. 

  • London Public Library reserves the right to disqualify any artwork deemed inappropriate.

  • Ownership and unrestricted use of entries by London Public Library. All entries and materials submitted to London Public Library by an entrant in connection with this contest, along with all copyrights and other proprietary intellectual property rights associate therewith, become the sole property of London Public Library upon submission. Entry materials will not be acknowledged or returned to any entrant.  Without limiting any of the above, each entrant (an, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) acknowledges that London Public Library will own all rights to use, modify, reproduce, publish, publicly perform, publicly display, publicly distribute, make derivative works of an otherwise commercially and non-commercially exploit the entry materials in perpetuity and throughout the world, in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed.

  • All eligible entries received will be judged by a panel of qualified judges on the listed criteria: Creativity, Originality, Interest, and Design.
    Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.

  • The prizes are not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded. The three prizes of equal value are Apple iPod Touches. All three winners will have their bookmarks printed and distributed to the public by London Public Library. All approved submissions will be displayed on London Public Library website.
