Stories to Inspire Resiliency
21 April 2016 - 4:29pm
Inspire resiliency in children through books! We read and tell stories to laugh, to wonder and to learn more about the world. When our children experience disappointments or stressful situations, sharing excellent books is a great way to start a conversation. The right book can ease a child's worries when a book character copes with similar challenges. You can find books to inspire resiliency at your Library through the catalogue, or ask staff. This is Literacy.ca has an excellent online list and printable pdf here. The Middlesex London Health Unit's Inspire Resilience campaign invites families to submit their 100-500 word stories of overcoming adversity (illness, bullying, grief). Find out more here.
