Take care of your brain

Did you know that the size of the brain is changing with the weight of a human body? The bigger the body, the smaller the brain. That means overweight and obese people have significantly less brain tissue (by average 6-8 %) than those of normal weight and that may cost them as much as 16 years of life. Our brains are very sensitive organs to nutrition  and can be easily damaged not only by drugs, alcohol and smoking but also by sugar, coffee and soft drinks. All that has been proven by academic research and  the work of Dr. Daniel Amen psychiatrist and brain-imaging expert.

Mystical Brain-Inspirational Films documentary

Join us on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 pm in the Wolf Performance Hall, Central Library for the screening of a film Mystical Brain. This short documentary reveals the exploratory work of a team from University of Montreal who seek to understand the states of grace experienced by mystics and those who meditate.
